Fairytales

Feeding on fairytales
Meant for all the others to live
They are as real and tangible
As only dreams would seem to be

Whisk(e)y

Beware of those
Who like whisk(e)y,
For they listen with care
And go beyond the seeable.
They don’t stall at pungent flavors –
Too drawn towards the aftertaste,
That always uncloaks a sweetness
Meant to be cherished by the few.

After All This Time

I am through with dealing
With these lumps of sadness
I cannot seem to make sense of.
The darkness is softly killing
All that is light within stitched bones
And choking insecurities.
After all these years spent in the shadows,
I should know how to put it all at bay.
After all this time being afraid to speak,
I should’ve at least learned how to breathe.

Heartbeat

Be kind,
In the face of battles
Underneath their grins.
Be understanding,
Of all the history
Molded through
Merry moments
And scars.
Be patient,
For it is key
To freeing the path,

So as to near
That humble sound.

Almighty

Almighty
We must become
Within our own skin.
Gods in charge of destiny
You’d want to be a part of.
With blood bursting out
In rainbows and craze
Urging to uncover
Poorly lit faces.

Torn and Empty

I am incapable of dealing with emotions;
As if they could burst out of my chest
Any time now,
Leaving the body torn and empty,
Only to bounce back in quivering silence,
Laced among themselves without sanity.

Double Life

Currently living a double life:
A life I I dream about
And one I am eager to leave behind.
Among the many selves,
There is one I strive to become.
Until the cries in my mind won’t cease
From blurring my senses,
Settling seems too premature
And happiness feels miles away.
